Special education teacher · Author of 40+ books

The books I wished I could hand to every parent who sat across from me.

Thirteen years in special education classrooms taught me what actually works with ADHD, autistic, and AUDHD kids. I put it in plain language, step by step, so you can start tonight.

About Richard

In 2020 my classroom moved into a webcam. I could suddenly see the other side.

For years I taught these kids all day and then sent them home. When school went remote, I was looking straight into the living room.

What I saw was parents doing their best with almost nothing to go on. Many of them could name their child’s diagnosis and not much else — not what it actually meant, not what to change at home, not what to do when the morning fell apart. Nobody had ever sat down and told them.

So I wrote A Beginner’s Guide on Parenting Children with ADHD, the book I would have handed them. Then parents wrote back, and their questions kept pointing somewhere new: autism, ODD, the teenager who has stopped talking to me. Each one turned into another book.

The rest of the catalog came the same way, from something I could see wasn’t being covered:

  • The teen workbooks came from watching teenagers struggle with anxiety and depression and having nothing structured to give them.
  • The SEL workbooks came from schools. Every district asks for social-emotional learning; almost none of them hand teachers a plan for actually doing it.
  • The homeschool workbooks I built for my own child. I will keep building them as my kids get older.
  • The success stories and life skills books exist to tell kids and teens something they rarely hear said plainly — that all of it is still possible for them.

Everything I publish gets used in a real classroom or at my own kitchen table first. If a strategy does not survive a Tuesday morning with actual kids, it does not go in the book.
